Capability: Floor Layout and Technical Area Design
Pulse DC consists of three stand alone data centres linked by a central security facility. Each data centre contains two separate data halls spanning 840 m2 and will house approximately 324 racks per hall. Each hall is designed to support, as a base, 1 MW of IT load. The design allows for various density racks and has the ability to support larger loads as required.
FLEXIBLE, MODULAR DESIGN
The benefits of this design include:
- all systems designed to cater for both low and high density (up to 30 kW per rack) through the use of a 600 mm raised floor and isolation of the hot air return to the CRAH (Computer Room Air Handlers)
- private suites available with areas starting from 94 m2
- high ceilings - 4.5 metres floor to ceiling
- floor loading capacity of 1500 kg/m2
- average temperature of 23˚C ± 1˚C (customised temperature ranges to full ASHRAE spectrum available in private suites)
- average relative humidity of 50% ± 5%
- overhead telecommunications and connectivity trays with preconfigured patching available
- multiple access points in each data hall for increased safety and minimisation of traffic within the technical area. A central plant area separates the two data halls and ensures direct access to equipment
- a large enclosed and secure loading dock ensures protection for unloading Heavy Rigid Vehicles of up to 9 metres in length and 3.6 metres in height
- adjoining the loading dock are secure temporary storage and commissioning spaces
- large double doors in each commissioned space lead to wide service corridors and provide direct access to technical areas
- loading dock and entire facility on one level without ramps or stairs providing easy and safe access for installation of equipment
- motion triggered energy efficient lighting throughout the facility with automatic lights out in all inactive areas
